KOTA MARUDU: United Kinabalu Progressive Organisation (Upko) President Datuk Ewon Benedick encourages party divisions to work together to alleviate poverty in their respective areas by forming at least one cooperative and association.
KOTA KINABALU (Nov 13): United Progressive Kinabalu Organization (UPKO) president Datuk Ewon Benedick wants the party’s divisions to be part of the poverty eradication solution in their respective areas by establishing at least one cooperative and association there.

An Upko leader likened Parti Bersatu Sabah’s (PBS) collaboration with Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties to form the State Government as “hypocritical.”
Upko Kota Belud Deputy Chief Carlye Lajimin was responding to PBS President Datuk Maximus Ongkili’s allegations that a certain BN component party bought political votes from illegal immigrants.
He said PBS’ collaboration with BN is akin to legitimising Maximus’ allegations, yet choosing not to do anything to stop it, and thus perpetuating the perennial illegals woe in Sabah.
“Maximus’ statement is like ‘shooting a friend’ but still continuing to depend on the friend and wants the friend to remain in power.
“PBS signed an agreement with BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) to form the State Government and also elevated BN to become the Prime Minister today
