BOLTON S top performing school has been recognised for ensuring bright young people receive a first class education regardless of their background.
Bolton School has been shortlisted in three categories in this year s Independent School Parents School of the Year Awards. It was shortlisted in the Social Mobility, Performing Arts and Outstanding New Initiatives Category. The foundation of Bolton School was built on the principle of providing a good education for all capable children a vision Lord Leverhulme had when he re-endowed the school in 1915. From the Class of 2020, 42 pupils received financial assistance from the school. Of those 38 continued their studies at university 32 securing places at some of the country s top universities,with a number now studying medicine.
FORMER England netball player Tracey Neville proved to a be a real sport when she visited Bolton to coach the next generation of sportswomen. Tracey, who was also the former England head coach, dropped by Bolton School to deliver a netball masterclass, sharing her top tips with the Year Six Junior Girls. In the PE lesson with a difference, Tracey led a series of challenging and fun drills before the girls put what thy learned into action on the netball court Headteacher Carol Laverick said: “It was a fantastic session and a delight to welcome Tracey to our school. “The girls were very excited and undoubtedly inspired to learn from an England legend.”
