Owners of landmarked house deed it to themselves for $18 million
The transaction at 17 Golfview Road was a Roberts family ownership transfer, the deed shows. The house was built by cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post.

Deed-watchers may have noticed a recent real estate transaction recorded at $18 million involving a landmarked house with an impeccable Palm Beach pedigree.
The property in question, at 17 Gofview Road, was the first house commissioned in town by cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. Built in 1921, it recently underwent an extensive renovation and restoration project.
But a closer examination of the latest deed shows that the sale was an internal one, in which the owners venture capitalist Thomas S. Roberts and his wife, Kristen transferred ownership from a limited liability company into their own names.
