The six-year project to identify the remains of unknown sailors and Marines who died aboard the USS Oklahoma during the Dec. 7, 1941, surprise attack on Oahu officially concluded Tuesday with the reburial of remains of 33 sailors that defied identification.
The ceremony was held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, where the remains had been buried under gravestones marked unknown.
