Carroll County Public Schools’ proposed fiscal 2023 operating budget still faces uncertainties in revenues and expenditures, according to Superintendent Steve Lockard.
Beginning 10 a.m., Monday, a survey will be available on the Carroll County Public School system’s website to receive community feedback on the search for a new superintendent.
As COVID-19 cases surge heading into the holidays, some Carrol County schools have made last-minute updates and cancellations. Among those schools are McDaniel College, East Middle School and Century High School.
Carroll County Public Schools anticipates receiving $6.6 million more in state funding for fiscal 2023 than it did for fiscal 2022, more revenue than the system has received in “probably over 10 years,” according to Chris Hartlove, chief financial officer at CCPS. But that increase is still significantly less than what was expected from the state, Hartlove said.
Although Mike Flemming was inducted to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for his dedication to the sport, he said dedication to family is what’s most important.
