When senior starter and team captain Joe Bachie was declared ineligible after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in October 2019, Harvey moved into the starting lineup for the final five games.
“That 2019 season kind of let me understand what a college football game’s really like because I was playing special teams years before that and I had never really got many reps as a linebacker,” Harvey said. “That brief half of the season that I got to start it did help me because when I walked into the 2020 season I knew what to expect.”
