Browsers Corner Book Store is celebrating 10 years of supporting the Carson City Library on April 6. Browsers is the main fundraising mechanism for the Friends of the Carson City Library and relies on the generosity of our community through donations that are sold at the bookstore.
Eight MIT and Harvard students are biking across the country to teach hands-on engineering workshops to students in select locations, including a stop at the Carson City Library. The team of students will bike across the United States in collaboration with edX and Teach for America as part of an effort to rethink STEM education.
When Charity Dale walked into the Carson City Library on Friday, she was overwhelmed. “It’s so light. It’s so open. It’s set up so much better, it makes more sense,” she said. “Before it was so dingy, and now it’s clean and fresh. It’s so amazing, it gave me goosebumps.”
Children and Family Counseling therapists Jeffrey Davis, MSW, LCSW and Kristopher Komarek, MSW, CSW-Intern, and will present a workshop at the Carson City Library on Monday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. This program is the second in the Mind-Body Connection: Mental Wellness Series.
