I’m not exactly sure what a ‘cupcake war’ is, but whatever the Carson Library has planned, it sounds delicious. Just make sure you register online to participate. Today is relatively quiet around town: we always have some great art exhibits to discover, but not too many planned events.

For most everyone, October 31st is Halloween, pure and simple. In Carson City, it’s a little more complicated.

Speaking at the June 5th Democratic luncheon will be Carson City library director Joy Holt. She will catch us up on all of librarys many doings, and is prepared to consider suggestions from the audience for even more doings.

Three point one four. That silly number gives us the secret of the circle. And it sounds like pie. Lets celebrate pi day with some jazz and poetry dedicated to math and baked goods with the Mile High Jazz Band at Comma Coffee tonight. The Tahoe Milers Running Group have a 3.14 mile challenge, and the winner gets pie.

If you hear some great music downtown, then you’re probably near Café at Adele’s. Tower of Power hits the stage for the annual Concert Under the Stars to benefit the Greenhouse Project. Grab some grub for a good cause at Buffalo Wild Wings: LBL Equine Rescue is holding a fundraiser.

The Carson Library offers some great activities for the kids and Craft Tuesday today is one of them. While you’re there, head across the street to Browser’s Corner Book Store to check out the holiday offerings at their craft fair.
