CARSON CITY — A 10-day intersection closure will begin Monday, April 30 on State Route 88 at Centerville Lane in Douglas County as the Nevada Department of Transportation installs a traffic roundabout.

UPDATE 10:04PM: An adult female who was walking in a crosswalk with her boyfriend was struck by the driver of a sedan who was making a left turn onto Roop Street from Robinson, said Carson City Sheriffs Office Sgt. Craig Lowe. The injured woman was alert and conscious at the time she was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital.

The Carson High School Band and Choir Ensembles earned big awards in Bay Area competitions earlier this month. The ensembles will be recognized at the Carson City School District board meeting, Tuesday, April 23 at Carson High School Senator Square; 7 p.m.

Carson City fire and ambulance responded to Goni and College Parkway late Sunday afternoon to a downed motorcycle rider. Dispatch toned out emergency crews at 4:23 p.m. Reporting witnesses on the scene said the motorcyclist may have suffered a seizure. CPR was being administered.
