British Gymnastics would like to congratulate Debra Courtenay-Crane and Patricia Sharpe for being named in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.
Debra Courtenay-Crane is Head Coach at Carterton Gymnastics Club and has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her services to gymnastics and to young people in Carterton, Oxfordshire.
Debra has built up Carterton Gymnastic Club over the past 36 years and remains Head Coach and Director at the club’s new purpose-built gymnastics facility, The Vault.
In December 2019, Debra was named the South Region winner of the BBC Sports Personality Get Inspired Unsung Hero award for her outstanding contribution to the sport in her area, helping thousands of gymnastics over her career including Commonwealth Games gymnast, Katie Slader, who presented her with her award at her gym.
