As of Jan. 3, there are 23 missing Indigenous people across King County’s many law enforcement jurisdictions.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson and other lawmakers are expected to propose new legislation that will create a Cold Case Investigations Unit focused on solving cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women and people (MMIWP).

The suspect, Brenan Robert Hill, 33, was the victim's boyfriend and originally charged with attempted second degree murder. With the victim's death, the charges have upgraded.

The man was arrested in Volusia County on unrelated charges and will be extradited to Flagler County in the near future, FCSO said.
