Amid Vietnamese tuna exports to major markets enduring a decline in January, exports of the product to the Republic of Korea have witnessed an impressive growth of 457% on-year, according to details given by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) reported that tra (pangasius) exports brought in only US$83.6 million in January, down 44% month on month and down 61% from a year earlier.
"The 5.1-magnitude quake hit around 1.28 pm (0628 GMT) on land just southwest of Jayapura city at a depth of 22 kilometres," the US Geological Survey said.
Despite a significant fall in exports in 2022, there are bright prospects ahead for pangasius exports this year thanks high demand from China and the United States – the two major markets for Vietnam, according to insiders.
