“I’m scared for my family,” a Raymond resident said.

Four inmates escaped Saturday night from the Raymond Detention Center, a facility near Jackson, through breaches in a cell and the roof.

“Whether he died by gunfire or whether he died as a result of the fire, that is to be determined right now,” Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said.

Officials say 22-year-old Dylan Arrington died in a house fire on Conway Road during a standoff Wednesday morning.
