Catie Ivey used to draw joy from hearing her grandfather and great-grandfather argue over which could claim her as “his” girl.
“They would always not real fight-fight, but joking-fight about who loved her more,” said Catie’s mother, Cathy Carlock of Winter Haven.
And then, within a span of four months in 2019, both men were gone. Catie’s grandfather, Michael Fahrion, died unexpectedly, and her great-grandfather, Ben Coppola, later succumbed to a long illness.
