Republican Art Robinson, the state senator for Oregons second senate district, which includes Cave Junction, announced today that his application for re-elected was rejected by the Secretary of State. Robinsons son, Noah Robinson, will run for his seat.

Police have contacted Palo and are no longer considering her missing, according to a Josephine County Sheriffs Office news release sent Friday afternoon.

A 43-year-old Josephine County woman, Sarah L. Palo, was reported missing yesterday. According to a news release from the Josephine County Sheriffs Office, she was last seen several months ago in Cave Junction.

Police shut down two illegal grow sites in the 600 and 900 blocks of Garner Road in Cave Junction yesterday, destroying 3,300 marijuana plants in the process.

Over 2,400 marijuana plants were destroyed after police raided an illegal grow site in the 5000 block of Rockydale Road in Cave Junction yesterday.

Police shut down an illegal grow site in the 20000 block of Old Highway 199 in Cave Junction on Aug. 31 -- and in the process, seized a water truck connected to several black market marijuana operations in Josephine County.
