The CBI action started at the premises of Abhishek in Delhi after booking him in the corruption case for allegedly amassing the disproportionate assets, the officials said.
The petitioner had filed an RTI application with the CPIO seeking a copy of a 2015 CBI report and copies of notings at various levels in the Department of Economic Affairs concerning the processing of the CBI report and the action taken report.
It is alleged that the public servants made false entries in the measurement books and supervisory officers had passed the bills of contractors, without necessary checks.
A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad thereafter said, “The CBI is also directed to take further appropriate steps for arresting Virendra Dev Dixit, as he is still absconding, by taking all possible appropriate measures. Let the matter be listed after six weeks.
