Cds Selection News Today

The government is likely to consider both serving and retired military officers for the position of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), said sources. The post of CDS has been vacant since December 8 last year, ever since the death of countrys first CDS, late General Bipin Rawat, in an air crash.

Former Army Chief General (retd) Shankar Roy Chowdhury said on Thursday that the selection of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) is based on the government's decision rather than seniority.
