The public is invited to meet four finalists for Cedar Rapids police chief as the city approaches an end to the nearly yearlong search. Here’s when and where you can meet them this week.

Four applicants out of 17 will be moving on to the interview stage of consideration to become the new Cedar Rapids Police Chief, and community members will have the opportunity to meet with them at an event next week.

The search for a new Cedar Rapids police chief is almost over, nearly 10 months after the previous chief, Wayne Jerman, aged out of the position and retired. A public meet and greet with the finalists is planned for next week.
