Allocation of beds under the civic body’s Central Hospital Bed Management System (CHBMS) will soon follow an automated ‘queue system’ based on calls made to the call centre or war rooms by patients. This new system of bed allotment is likely to be implemented in a couple of days, said Arvind Limbavali, Minister for Forests, Kannada and Culture, who is also the nodal minister for war room and call centre management.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up six new physical triage centres in the city, taking the total number of such centres to 32 across the eight zones in the city.
According to a press release, the six new centres have been opened at Byrasandra Yoga Centre (10 beds) in Jayanagar 3rd Block, Shuttle Court (51 beds), opposite Sagar Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout, Octavla Hotel (39 beds) on Marathalli Road, Kaikondrahalli, Key House Hotel (50 beds) in H.S.R. Layout, Zinc Hotel (50 beds) on Chennasandra Main Road, Whitefield, and OYO Town House (50 beds) in OMBR Layout.

The government is contemplating on introducing mobile oxygen supply on the lines of the Chennai model where oxygen generators have been fitted in buses.
“We are thinking on the same lines and to begin with, 20 buses may be fitted with oxygen generators. This will help patients waiting in hospitals or those coming to hospitals from their homes,”s aid Basavaraj Bommai, Minister for Home on Monday.

Bengaluru, May 10 : The Bengaluru central crime branch police on Monday arrested three persons including a health department official who talked about the 'cash for bed scam' in hospitals at a time when the Covid second wave is sweeping across the state.
With the arrests the total number of arrests touched seven with the CCB having arrested four persons on Friday, a CCB press release stated here on Monday.
According to the police, the three arrested on Monday have been identified as Shashidhar, an Arogya Mitra, apart from Venkat Rao and Sudhir Umarani, who were working in two separate private hospitals and used to coordinate with Shashidhar to block and unblock beds of the hospitals they represented.
