In their first game since December 12th, the WACO boys’ basketball team could not start the New Year in the win column when Central Lee invaded Wayland and came away with a 66-54 victory.  Three Hawks (3-6) were in double figures led by Bronson Sargent with 23 points. The dream of a Joint Educational Center continues, but it won’t be located at the former KL Megla building south of Fort Madison. Fort Madison High School girls basketball coach Tony Sargent likes the team he finally got to put on the court this year. The Bloodhounds took a two-week hiatus soon after practice started when the school went to all online learning.
