Syracuse, N.Y. – A regional planning agency is asking businesses and residents in five counties of Central New York about the quality of their internet access. The survey will provide information to municipal leaders trying to improve broadband service for their residents.
The Central New York Regional Planning & Development Board today launched a survey that will be online until July 31. It takes five or six minutes to fill out.
The planning board will share its results with leaders of Onondaga, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison and Oswego counties, who may undertake initiatives to improve broadband in underserved areas. Funding for broadband is available through the recent federal stimulus act and other sources.
