The session began with welcome address by Principal Government Polytechnic Kathua, Er. Arun Bangotra, who said that Cyber Crimes have increased during Covid-19 and cyber security has become the main focus of deliberations because of the increased dependence on virtual world for learning. He advised the students to stay vigilant and follow necessary precautions to get rid of the Cyber threats.
Er. Vikas Razdan gave detailed presentation on ethics to be maintained by the netizens. A wide range of topics like Identity theft, cyber grooming, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, sextortion, love scams, phishing, one ring scams, safeguarding social media accounts, online banking frauds, lottery frauds, remote access scams, social media privacy policy etc. were covered during the seminar and the students were made aware to restrain from disclosing their identities online and not to fell prey to the cyber criminals.
