“We’re not going to discuss any confidential details of the search process,” Womble said.
Just after Womble made that statement, Augustine said without prompting that support for Allison “was unanimous.”
“As a board when we sent all the names up to the system for consideration, we felt very confident,” he said before Womble again interrupted.
“You don’t have to talk about that, Mr. Chairman,” he said.
When contacted Friday about Augustine’s statement regarding the unanimous support, the university initially issued a three-sentence statement saying the school would not say more because of confidentiality laws. Later, a revised statement was issued.
