NCPA Delegates Install Chancy as President, Approve Position Statements

Health officials wrestle with vaccine hesitancy

Jordan | jack.jordan@gaflnews.com May 11, 2021 May 11, 2021 MOULTRIE, Ga. â Almost 20,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered but some officials say this is still not enough. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, 6,590,354 vaccines have been administered throughout the state â 20,370 of those vaccinations have occurred in Colquitt County. The numbers encompass vaccinations given by Colquitt Regional Medical Center, pharmacies, doctorâs offices, Colquitt County Health Department and other privately licensed distributors such as businesses or nursing homes. While the numbers seem positive, people younger than 65 still need to be vaccinated, according to Dr. Charles Ruis, M.D., district health director for Health District 8 which encompasses Colquitt County.

(WALB) - The City of Hahira is partnering with Chancy Drugs to give the COVID-19 vaccine. The pop-up clinic kicked off Tuesday. They were fully booked with 200 appointments. “It has been bad. We kind of been working through it,” Bruce Cain, Hahira mayor, said. Cain said COVID-19 continues to impact the community and it’s been tough on the elderly. He said he’s glad to partner up with Chancy Drugs and provide this clinic as another option for vaccines.
