The Assam Rifles on Monday said 96 persons stranded near the Myanmar border in violence-hit Manipur were airlifted to a safe location. The villagers were provided shelter in a camp of Assam Rifles at Phaisenjang village in Chandel district on May 4 when the ethnic clashes first erupted.
