the charity tournament being recorded today will air next month. that s when you can see it. old school paper checks are quickly becoming a thing of the past. the latest example, the government is offering to give some americans their tax refund on a prepaid debit card. alison has the details. how does this work, alison? reporter: well, what this is, carol, it s a test program for low-income americans only. i m talking about people who make less than $35,000 a year. and what this would do is give their tax refund, actually direct deposit them on to a prepaid debit card. the government is going to go ahead and send out letters next week to 600,000 people who would be eligible. it will tell them how to activate this card if they choose to do so and the low-income americans are targeted because they most likely would not have a bank account in the first place. the debit card may have fees but it could be worth it because
