CHARLEMONT Police say Gregory Herzig, a 66-year-old Colrain man, has died following a crash that temporarily closed Route 2 on Wednesday.According to a statement from State Police Trooper Brandon Doherty, the collision involved a 2005 Harley.

HAWLEY Voters will be asked to approve 20 articles on the warrant for Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 10, including a proposed fiscal year 2022 budget that represents a nearly 2 percent decrease from this year’s budget.
The meeting will convene outside Town Hall at 7 p.m.
The warrant seeks approval for a total budget of a $1.1 million, which includes school budget appropriations for Mohawk Trail and Hawlemont regional school districts, as well as Franklin County Technical School. The town’s general budget of $537,478 a figure that excludes appropriations for the three school districts is 1.72 percent less than its current budget.
