because you'll get delayed in white marsh township. >> philadelphia police are questioning one person in connection with the attack on two gay men in center city. katherine scott is live outside central detectives to fill us in. >> reporter: at least one person is being questioned in central detectives there are other people being questioned at different police locations around the area. the person being questioned is an assistant basketball coach at least he was until he lost his job last evening. he had no comment to the reporters here, we have blurred his face, because he has not been named as a suspect or charged with a crime. he was with the large group in center city a week ago tonight when people say 10 to 12 people severely beat and robbed two gay men in center city. social media played a role in the investigation identifying people in the group. that's how a picture surfaced taken near a restaurant near the scene. it's a large party of old high school friends. some former students from archbishop wood are suspected in the beating. it's important to get a clear picture of what happened that night, which is why there have been no arrests warrant. the district attorney's office said sexual orientation is not on the lest of hate crimes, so it can't be prosecuted as one. some lawmakers have tried to get that law through and failed. >> we're not that far, but people from the group were questioned yesterday. social media helped push the investigation forward identifying people in the group that's how the picture surfaced taken near a restaurant at the scene. philadelphia archdiocese confirms the former students from archbishop wood high school in bucks county are suspected in the beating and made it clear the school does not tolerate or condone the violent or hateful behavior in the attack. the toarp for the former assistant coach had this to say. >> the investigation is in progress we're cooperating with it. i think we would all be wise to wait for the outcome of it. >> police say no arrests warrants have been issued because they are trying to get a clear picture of what happened that night. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >>
