burnett. breaking news, george zimmerman is behind bars after weeks of protest, outrage and demands for action, he s been arrested and charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old trayvon martin. florida state attorney and special prosecutor angela corey announced the charges against the 28-year-old neighborhood watchman in sanford, florida. today we filed an information charging george zimmerman with murder in the second degree. a capias has been issued for his arrest. with the filing of that information and the issuance of the capias he will have a right to appear in front of a magistrate in seminole county within 24 hours of his arrest and thus formal prosecution will begin. corey has been conducting her own investigation into the shooting separate from that of the sanford police department and shortly after she announced the arrest, trayvon martin s family spoke. thank god. we simply wanted an arrest. we wanted nothing more, nothing less, w
