The gentle winds cooled the summer heat as I sat on the bank of the Nakhon Chai Si River, taking in a beautiful view of the waterside hamlet and lush landscapes of the small town of Sam Phran in Nakhon Pathom province. It's only a 90-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok in order to breathe in some fresh air on the weekend.

RATCHABURI: A boxing arena in an army camp in Muang district was opened to local residents inspection on Wednesday, to allay their fears it was being converted into a field hospital for Covid-19 patients from Samut Sakhon.
On Tuesday afternoon, worried residents from tambons Ko Phlap Phla, Chedi Hak and Hin Kong in Muang district gathered at Camp Burachat, the headquarters of an army engineering regiment.
