For senior wide receiver Brannon Spector, Clemson runs in the family. Spector’s father, Robbie, was a Tiger wide receiver who lettered from 1988-90, and his brother, Baylon, is a former Tiger linebacker and 2022 NFL draft pick who is now playing for the Buffalo Bills. His sister, Blair, is also a Clemson graduate and former Tiger cheerleader.

Clemson’s Oct. 21, 2006 game against Georgia Tech was memorable in many ways. The meeting between Tommy Bowden’s No. 12 Tigers and Chan Gailey’s No. 13 Yellow Jackets was the first of top-15 teams in Memorial Stadium since the 1992 opener against Florida State. It was also the first time since 1939 that Clemson wore the uniform combination of purple jerseys and purple pants.

When Dabo Swinney became Clemson’s head coach on a full-time basis on Dec. 1, 2008, it was apparent during his press conference that he wanted Clemson to be among the elite programs in college football in all aspects. That meant excellence on the field and in the classroom.

Military service has been a cornerstone of Clemson University since its founding as an all-male military school in 1889. The rivalry between Clemson and Georgia Tech dates to 1897, the second season of Clemson football and the sixth season for the Yellow Jackets. Both programs were positively impacted by John Heisman, one of the first nationally known coaches in the history of the sport.

The graduate from Lawrenceville, Ga. has not only developed into a vital member of the Tiger defense at the safety position, he has also made his presence known as a vocal leader for the team off the field.
