Several world-class athletes have been added to the roster at the WTT Middle East Hub, which takes place between 3 – 13 March 2021 at Lusail Sports Arena in Doha, Qatar.
The level of competition has been raised at the first official events of the WTT era thanks to the introduction of some elite names entering as wildcards in the men’s and women’s singles fields. Meanwhile, the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories have also been confirmed.
The Middle East Hub will feature two tiers of the new WTT event structure, with a WTT Contender followed by a WTT Star Contender event in consecutive weeks, providing the perfect preparation for some of the world’s leading names to be challenged by the best up-and-coming athletes in table tennis.
Very cold weather advisory issued for 16 cities, counties

Taipei, Dec. 28 (CNA) The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) issued an orange cold weather advisory Monday afternoon for 16 cities and countries in Taiwan for Wednesday and Thursday, forecasting very cold weather in those areas.
Under the CWB s three-color cold weather advisories, a yellow warning means the weather is cold, with a minimum ground-level temperature below 10 degrees Celsius along with a significant day-night temperature difference.
An orange warning signifies very cold weather, with a minimum ground-level temperature below 6 degrees, or a minimum ground-level temperature below 10 degrees but with the temperature remaining below 12 degrees for 24 hours.

Taipei, Dec. 27 (CNA) New Taipei s Tamsui District and coastal areas of northern Taoyuan, as well as Hsinchu and Miaoli counties, could have perceived temperatures of as low as zero degree on New Year s Eve, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Sunday.
A strong cold wave and wet weather system is scheduled to affect the country in the afternoon of Dec. 30, sending temperatures plummeting to as low as 7 to 8 degrees Celsius in central and northern Taiwan, CWB forecaster Chen Chien-an (陳建安) said.
The cold wave is estimated to be at its strongest from late Dec. 31 to early Jan. 1, when mountains ranging from 800 meters to 1,000 meters or higher could see possible snowfall, including Yangmingshan in suburban Taipei, Lalashan in Taoyuan and Taipingshan in Yilan County, according to Chen.
