Representational Image Raipur: A jawan of the Chhattisgarh Special Task Force (STF) was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast planted by Naxals in the insurgency-hit Bijapur district on Sunday. A group of STF jawans were on area domination exercise from Tarrem police station limits on Sunday morning. In a forested patch under the police station about 430 km south of state capital Raipur, the incident occurred, said Kamlochan Kashyap, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bijapur. Mohan Nag, an STF jawan, accidentally stepped on an IED planted by Maoists in the jungle. The device went off triggering the explosion, the SP said.
