The difficulty to hire enough employees caused Sycamore Pool to reduce the hours lifeguards can be on duty.

CHICO, Calif. - Sycamore Pool in Lower Bidwell Park will reduce its hours beginning on July 2 due to short staffing, according to the City of Chico.
Moving forward, Sycamore Pool will have lifeguards present Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. instead of noon to 7 p.m.
Lifeguards will be on duty from noon to 7 p.m. for the 4th of July weekend.
Chico Rotarians building a park to celebrate club s 100th year of service

CHICO, Calif. - The 100th anniversary of the Chico Rotary Club is being celebrated with a big community park-building effort.
The Rotarians are working with Chico Area Recreation District (CARD) and the City of Chico to build what will be called Rotary Centennial Park.
The location is Ceres Avenue and Whitewood Way on the north end of the City of Chico.
