Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 86 points, or 0.47 per cent, lower at 18,134.50, hinting at a negative start for the domestic market on Wednesday.

BSE Sensex added 110.6 points, or 0.19 per cent, to trade at 57,724.32, while NSE's Nifty50 gained 37.45 points, or 0.22 per cent, to 16,989.15 at 9.20 am.

The wider Nifty gained 56.40 points or 0.32 percent to 17,827.30, while the BSE Sensex increased 222.88 points or 0.37 percent to 60,654.72.

As of 1:55, Sensex is trading down 530 points or 0.9% to 59,820 points, whereas Nifty dropped 144 points or 0.9 % to 17,842 points, and banking gauge Nifty Bank sank almost 600 points or 1.4% to 42,039 points

Sensex is trading at 61,030 points, up 102 points or 0.2% while Nifty-50 is trading at 18,162 points, up 31 points or 0.18% and Nifty Bank is trading at 42,957 points, up 98 points or 0.2%.

Stock Market News Live: Sensex and Nifty touched record highs in early deals today, extending their gains for the sixth straight session. Asian stocks rebounded as South Korea's KOSPI moved 0.35 per cent higher, the Shanghai Composite index rose 1.63 per cent higher and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index jumped 3.44 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei index slipped 0.58 per cent.

Sectorwise, the BSE IT index gained 5.92% during the past five trading sessions. BSE Bankex, BSE Metal, BSE Capital Goods and BSE Realty also outpaced Sensex with a gain of over 4.60%.

What to expect from markets today: Sensex declined 135.37 points or 0.26 per cent to settle at 51,360.42 and Nifty fell 67.10 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 15,293.50.

Sensex rises 30 points to 54,923 and Nifty gains 7 points to 16,363.
