A City of Bradenton police officer is suing his boss over what he alleges amounts to a violation of the "Whistle Blower Act."

An officer with the Bradenton Police Department (BPD) has filed a lawsuit against Police Chief Melanie Bevan.

The Bradenton City Council approved an independent investigation that will look into allegations made by former and current Bradenton Police officers.

Tensions have been mounting at the Bradenton Police Department and now the Bradenton mayor is asking for the chief to be investigated after several new complaints have been filed by officers.
