SRINAGAR: The prolonged dry spell in Jammu & Kashmir has prompted complaints of water scarcity in certain areas, as the water levels in local water bodies have dwindled due to the deficit rainfall experienced in the Union Territory over the past two months.

BS Pralhad, Chief Engineer of BBMP, clarified, “We have not incurred any additional expenditure for this project. Thus far, Rs 109 crore has been invested, and construction progress has reached 60%. The current slowdown is attributed to the BWSSB’s delay in establishing a separate pipeline for waste disposal.”
