Going the extra mile, the State government has transferred all the police personnel manning the Bilasipara Police Station in Dhubri district as a punitive measure.
The Gauhati High Court on Friday criticized the Bilasipura Police for having registered what appeared to be a “post-investigation FIR”, meant to justify the lodging of a criminal case after the arrest of the person.
An adjournment request made citing difficulties faced by a counsel from Calcutta led the Gauhati High Court to ask why lawyers were being brought from elsewhere when Gauhati had no dearth of good lawyers.
