RBDF Sub Lieutenant Renaldo Wilkinson of the RBDF charged with rape of a fellow marine on Inagua. NASSAU| Sub Lieutenant Renaldo Wilkinson appeared before a magistrate today charged with the rape of a marine, who worked as his subordinate. Prosecutors allege that Wilkinson, 35, raped the 32-year-old woman at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force base on Inagua on February 5. Wilkinson served as the the first lieutenant on the base. He’s been relieved of his duties pending the outcome of the case and his alleged victim is undergoing counseling. Wilkinson was not required to enter a plea to the rape charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

Police arrested Cabreo Cash, 19, after they found 12 grams of Indian hemp in his jacket pocket on December 7. He pleaded guilty to a single count of simple possession during a hearing before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt. The court was told that day, officers on inquiries observed Cash, who was wearing a red jacket. The prosecution said the defendant appeared to look in the direction of the officers before acting in a suspicious manner. They then approached Cash and told him he would be searched in reference to dangerous drugs and firearms. During their investigation, officers discovered one clear plastic bag with ten silver foil wraps in his jacket pocket.

Police arrested Jared Maycock, 28, after they found 27 grams of Indian hemp in one of his pants pockets on December 8. He pleaded guilty to one count of simple possession during his hearing before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt. The prosecution said that day, officers observed Maycock playing dominoes. The court heard at the time of the incident, the defendant appeared to look in the direction of officers before acting in a suspicious manner. Officers then approached Maycock and told him he would be searched in reference to dangerous drugs and firearms. During their investigation, they discovered 27 silver foil wraps which each contained a quantity of suspected marijuana, in the accused’s pocket.
