happening right now, demonstrators are holding a rally outside the white house to show their support for protesters calling for political change in iran. these are live shots from outside the white house at 1600 pennsylvania avenue. there are dozens, maybe hundreds of people as you can see gathering to bring attention to the anti-government protesters in iran right now. former speaker of the house, newt gingrich and members of congress are expected to join the rally later on. for more insight on this, i want to bring in the director of national security at bipartisan policy center based here in washington. blaze, what can you tell us about these protests? these are clearly protesters gathering in front of the white house. you know, to show support for the protesters in iran. do you know anything about who these folks are?
yeah, well, we do know that the protests are being organized by a political opposition group that s been expelled from iran and has been active in europe and the united states for a while now. and they have a lot of eye level high level supporters, newt gingrich being one of them. so, i think a large part of the people attending are members of that organization and their suppo supporters. iranians that have fled the oppression of the regime. gillian: who are now here? who are how here in the u.s. and i imagine other iranian-americans supporting the general cause of the protesters in iran as well as some americans. gillian: and folks from washington d.c., being the international city it is, fair to assume that there are folks from all over the world coming here. exactly. gillian: in a show of solidarity. i mean, the white house is, i think, a focal point whenever we see these sorts of mass movements of the the white house is a place where people go to try to urge the united st
had had to deal with icy water. on top of that boston massachusetts has been dealing with the coldest week they ever had in about 100 years. and now based on the temperatures this weekend it s going to be 13 consecutive days where they will have temperatures below 32. here in new york the new york post is really summing it up while. minus five to minus 15 degrees and also there are tons of airport delays at jfk are there are reports of people having to wait on the tarmac for as much as 20 hours. we are talking about the second coldest place on earth. it s here in the united states washington in new hampshire real temperature negative 36. i think it s on armstrong ontario.
