After a traumatic two years for Boeing and its 737 Max programme, some of the airframer’s top customers have signed up for hundreds more of the jets, delivering key endorsements as the type returns to service.
Notably, Southwest Airlines’ decision, disclosed on 29 March, to replace 737-700s with 737 Max 7s came after follow-on Max orders from key customers Ryanair and United Airlines.

But a further batch of Max order cancellations in March – from the likes of Turkish Airlines and aircraft lessors CDB Aviation and China Aircraft Leasing – again highlight the pandemic’s continued impact on the aerospace industry.

(Reuters) - Boeing Co said on Tuesday it delivered 29 aircraft in March, up from 20 a year earlier, with the U.S. planemaker's net orders staying positive for the second straight month as airlines get ready for a recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company's orders appear to be turning a corner after the coronavirus crisis caused airline customers to cancel hundreds of jets on orders last year, resulting in one of the worst performances for Boeing ever.

China Aircraft Leasing has placed an order for 30 Comac ARJ21 aircraft with an Indonesian airline, in which CALC and two of its most senior executives have a 49% stake, as a co-buyer.
The aircraft will be delivered “in stages” up to 2026, according to an 8 January filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange by the locally based lessor.
The agreement includes a purchase option for 30 additional ARJ21s.
