China EV Sales: Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs), which have underpinned China s auto sales growth, were up 34.5% in August, accounting for 36.9% of total car sales. Sales rose 11.8% in August versus July.
China Association of Auto Manufacturers (CAAM) has withdrawn the pledge to refrain from "abnormal pricing" to avoid any antitrust issues. The pledge involved 16 automakers including Tesla and Li Auto, and was intended to end the conflict over industry profitability.
