One of denvers largest communities is celebrating half a century. [ chanting ] reporter in the northeast corn error of diverse corner of denver sits a community full of pride. They live out here and they go to school out here. Reporter also among the most diverse neighborhoods in the city. Our community predominantly has been people of color from the beginning. And it continues to be so today. Reporter this year makes 50 years developed, and the community is marking the anniversary with a celebration of diversity. Music, vendors and games, a neighborhood sometimes perceived as a crimeriddled Community Came together for a day filled with family fun. With all the crime, the violence going on, and all the things theyre saying thats a celebration for us. Regardless of our backgrounds, we can get along and have a beautiful community. Meteorologist Marty Coniglio and Amelia Earhart is here. We have a couple of high today. High winds warning out around wheatland, cheyenne, this goes all the way through tomorrow afternoon. They can see some wind gusts up to 25 Miles Per Hour. Were already getting 2050 foothills. Theres not a lot of action. Were not going to be tremendously windy in the metro area. If you get west of kipling today, it starts getting gusty. Were going to feel the warmth, mid to upper 50s around town. Colorado. We could even have a few of the foothill communities touching 50 degrees during the afternoon today. Jet stream keeps us warm today. By thursday into friday, we move in, and with it, snow. Mountain snow starts tomorrow morning. Goes on and off throughout the day. The mountains. Tomorrow, 14inch range. Well get additional snow coming up friday into saturday. Marty, these next few days should be nice. Were going to melt off a lot of snow we got friday morning. Then well get a little more coming up this friday morning. The storms are in the cascades and extreme northern rockies, up to a foot of snow there and two feet in the sierras, as expected in the el expected el nino year. Its very light as far as winds go. Were running between 30 and 40 Miles Per Hour. Thats going to be common throughout the day. In the mountains and foothills, 45 and 55 mileperhour winds will be common. Even if you dont get wind where you are, you will benefit from that effect and it will allow temperatures to move into up ther 40s to about 50 degrees so amelia, were looking for sunshine slowing. I can say that, in about an hour and a half from now. Clear and dry. With all the wind out to the west side, i wouldnt be surprised if thats why we morning. You guys just showed we have some light snow going on this morning. Thats going to fizzle this afternoon. We will get a big shot of snow in the mountains over the weekend be, and thats prior to the storm we have been talking about next week. Really going to get generous amounts of snow. Wind is starting to be a little breezy in the backyard keeping temperatures above freezing this morning, going to the 40s to near 50. We do have snow going in mountain areas this morning. This is a very small weak disturbance thats clicking through the area. It looks like about 2 inches of snow this morning up at Steamboat Springs ski areas. Still snowing at that location.
