Pastor saves Peyton Manning the pooch from black bear attack in Mt Pleasant Township

Pleasant Township pastor who fended off a black bear that had his family dog clutched in its teeth. The Rev. Tim Stradling said Tuesday that Peyton Manning, a 9-year-old Maltese/silky terrier mix, is recovering at a Monroeville animal hospital. The dog has a fractured leg and puncture wounds around its neck. “It all happened in a matter of two minutes,” he said. It started when Stradling, the 56-year-old pastor of Armbrust Wesleyan Church, let Peyton outside about 10 p.m. Monday. The dog started barking shortly after outside the home near the church, located at the intersection of Route 819 and Stone Church Road.

All shotguns used for small game and waterfowl should be plugged to allow only two shells in the tube. Not having a plug is a violation.   Allegheny County Game Warden Zeb Campbell reports a case where someone shot a turkey in a safety zone and did not properly tag the bird, resulting in over $350 worth of fines. A reminder that a safety zone is established around the person’s house even if they do not own the property.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Iva Kerr; brother, Larry Kerr; and husband, James Wilson, Jr. Ms. Wilson was born in Royal Oak, MI, grew up in Fairhope, AL and was a graduate of Fairhope High School. She met Jim, the love of her life and they were married 17 years with homes in Florence, AL and Mobile, AL. She attended Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile. She was very talented in many areas. Over the years she owned several small businesses including a health spa, kitchen gourmet, frame and ceramic shops. Her favorite past time was hand crafting fine jewelry. She enjoyed entertaining friends, playing card games, bunco and spending time with her family. Most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus. Carolyn is survived by her three children, son, Todd(Danielle) Bergman of Mobile, AL; daughter, Kim Ebentheue
