A 29-year-old Hardin County man has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night shooting on Village Drive in Elizabethtown.
Irving White, 29, was shot and killed at a residence in the 500 block of Village Drive. According to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham, a preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was self defense.
White arrived alone and there were two adults inside of the home. An altercation occurred between White and the individuals inside, according to an EPD news release.
White returned to his vehicle and moments later began firing shots into the home. One of the individuals from inside of the home returned fire, striking White. After being shot, White got back into his vehicle and attempted to drive away but after traveling only a short distance succumbed to his injuries.
