BHUBANESWAR: Churches across the state are looking at low-key Christmas celebrations following all Covid-19 guidelines.
The churches have decided not to hold the midnight mass, while many have taken the prayers online. One can join the mass on online platforms like Zoom and GoogleMeet. Community members, however said, the Christmas celebrations would not be the same online in these trying times.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has allowed the city churches to celebrate Christmas with limited number of participants and prior permission.
John Bawra of St Vincent’s Pro Cathedral (Satya Nagar) said, “We have decided to cancel the midnight mass in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. People will be allowed with masks and sanitisers being mandatory for all.
