1 stabbed, taken to hospital in Redding
One person was stabbed and transported to a local hospital, Redding Police Department said.

REDDING, Calif. - An intruder was transported to a local hospital after being stabbed on Thursday night, Redding Police Department said.
At about 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Venus Way when an unknown subject was forcing his way into a residence.
19-year-old Christian Phelps said he stabbed the intruder who was identified as 27-year-old Charles Benson Jr.
Benson then fled the residence in a vehicle that was located several blocks away by a CHP officer in the area.
Police: Man stabbed after attempting to break into Redding home
Redding police are investigating a stabbing during a suspected home invasion in the 2200 block of Venus Way on Thursday evening, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to the Venus Way address around 6 p.m. for a report of a man trying to force his way into a home.
Christian Phelps, 19, of Redding, told police that he stabbed the intruder, who was later identified as Charles Benson Jr., 27, of Redding, investigators said.
Benson left the house in a vehicle and was later located several blocks away by a California Highway Patrol officer.
