Students at Kutztown High School and Kutztown Elementary School will learn remotely today and Friday due to COVID-19 cases at the schools.
According to messages Dr. Christian Temchatin, superintendent, sent to parents on Wednesday, the closures are based on updated guidance from the state Department of Health. Both schools will resume in-person instruction Monday.
The high school has had two positive COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days, the message said. Department of Health guidelines say that a school with fewer than 500 students should close for three to seven days if between two and four cases are identified in the building over two weeks.
