It's been a few years since the idea of Chrome OS supporting Steam was originally floated. Since 2020, we've seen a few mentions here and there in the Chromium Gerrit, but it seems that integration could be around the corner. As spotted by 9to5Google, Google has implemented a list of the first Chromebooks that will support Steam on Chrome OS, but you shouldn't get too excited. But the 9to5Google team also uncovered some of the minimum spec requirements that Google will implement whenever Steam support finally arrives.

Samsung does so by allowing you to limit how much your phone can be charged, while Google has opted for an Adaptive Charging feature. Essentially, this makes it so that your phone will charge slowly overnight, and ramping up so your phone will still reach 100% when you wake up. By doing so, this is designed to help your phone's battery last for longer, improving the device's longevity. According to a new Chromium Gerrit commit, as spotted by 9to5Google, it seems that Adaptive Charging may finally make its way to a Chromebook near you. The official description of this feature reads as such: Minimizes the amount of time the device spends at full battery to preserve battery lifetime. How to turn on and use Android's Nearby Share feature At CES 2022, Google announced a slew of new features that are coming to Chomebooks, smartwatches, Android, and even Windows PCs to improve usability. One such feature is improving Nearby Share, but it seems that we're in store for a rebranding of sorts as discovered by Chrome Story. In addition to Nearby Share, a new Chromium Gerrit commit reveals that Google will also be introducing a feature called "Self Share". The way that this works is pretty similar to AirDrop, but instead of being able to share files with anyone else who is using Nearby Share, it will only work
