Kousei shines as Work blanks tough-luck Cignal Ultra, ends own losing spell in MPL

Published April 23, 2021, 7:37 PM Screenshot from MPL Philippines  Work Auster Force went to Clarense “Kousei” Camilo to pull off a 2-0 sweep over Cignal Ultra and arrest its losing skid in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Friday night, April 23.  Kousei on his Esmeralda secured a crucial pickoff to hand Work a hard-earned win in the series opener then came up with sneaky plays on his Benedetta to give his teammates a lot of space to farm and take objectives for an easy victory in the second game.  With the sweep, Work ended its two-game slump and solidified its hold of No. 2 in Group A with 13 points on a 4-3 series win-loss slate, behind leading Aura PH with 14 markers. 

Aura PH stymies pesky Cignal Ultra, stretches hot streak to four wins in MPL

Published April 22, 2021, 5:08 PM Photo from Aura Philippines Red-hot Aura PH staved off the spirited fightback from Cignal Ultra to post a swift 2-0 sweep and seize a four-game winning streak in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Thursday, April 22.  Aura methodically picked Cignal apart in the series opener before fending off the latter in the grueling second game behind Allen “Greed ” Baloy’s brilliant Winter Truncheon bait play.  Aura remained on top of Group A with 14 points on a 5-1 series win-loss record midway through the regular season.  Cignal continued to struggle as it stayed winless in five matches at the cellar of the same group with only two markers to show. 

Smart Omega pulls out Estes and Diggie to spoil Cignal Ultra debut

Published April 15, 2021, 3:51 PM Photo from Smart Omega  Displaying its superior drafting and execution, Smart Omega made short work of the debuting Cignal Ultra, 2-0, at the resumption of MPL Philippines Season 7 on Thursday, April 15.  Omega, under coach Tony “Ynot” Senedrin, surprisingly pulled out two supports in Estes and Diggie to swiftly cut off Cignal in the clincher of the first match of the MPL Philippines since March 28.  The league finally resumed after a lengthy break following the Holy Week and the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 infections.  Beatrix made her first MPL-PH appearance as the Season 6 runner-up and M2 World Championship playoffs finisher picked up the Dawnbreak Soldier for Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo in Game 1.
